Zap Mode FAQ

1. What is Zap Mode on Sushi?

Zap Mode is a feature on Sushi that allows you to add liquidity to pools using just a single token. No need to manually swap or balance token ratios—Sushi automatically handles everything behind the scenes, saving you time, gas fees, and unnecessary steps. Simply deposit, and Zap Mode optimizes the process for you. Now available on V2 and Smart Pools.

  1. What pools are available for Zap Mode?

Zap Mode is currently available on:

  • V2 Pools
  • Smart Pools, which include selected V3 pools.

2. What are the pool ratios?

  • V2 Pools: Follow a standard 50/50 ratio.
  • V3 Pools: Use concentrated liquidity, so the ratio is dynamic and depends on the pool conditions.

3. How much of my token will be swapped on my behalf?

  • For V2 Pools, approximately 50% of your token is swapped into the other token to meet the 50/50 ratio.
  • For Smart Pools, the swap percentage will vary depending on the pool. You can preview the split by clicking [View Route] before confirming your deposit.

4. Does this mean Sushi will swap part of my token into the other token?

Yes. Zap Mode automatically swaps a portion of your selected token to balance it into the correct ratio required by the pool.

5. How does the swap setting work? (e.g., slippage)

  • You can adjust the slippage tolerance in the settings before zapping your tokens.
  • The swap occurs during the Zap process, and the resulting tokens are deposited into the pool automatically.

6. What is an SLP?

SLP stands for Sushi Liquidity Provider token. When you provide liquidity to a pool on Sushi, you receive SLP tokens, which represent your share of the pool.

  1. How does Zap Mode Works

a. Head to the Pool page on Sushi and click the dropdown arrow on the "I want to create a position" button. Then select "V2 Position" as Zap mode is currently only available on V2.

b. Select the network e.g. Base and the liquidity pool you like to provide liquidity into. e.g. TOSHI/ETH

c. Toggle on Zap Mode

d. Select a single token e.g. TOSHI from the selected token pair and enter the LP you want to provide liquidity.

e. Click "View Route" if you want to see how your deposit is split, swapped, and added to the liquidity pool. Or you can go straight to "Add Liquidity".

Here's what happens:

a. Splitting the deposit:

  • 50% of TOSHI is swapped for WETH on SushiSwap.
  • 50% remains as TOSHI (no swap needed).

b. Liquidity Addition:

  • The newly swapped WETH and the remaining TOSHI are deposited into SushiSwap V2.
  • The user receives SLP (Sushi Liquidity Provider) tokens in return.

f. Next, Approve the spending cap by clicking on "Approve (Token)"; then add the amount to approve on Metamask, or any wallet you use.

g. Confirm the transaction

h. Deposit in one click - Sushi handles the rest, swapping and balancing tokens automatically.

i. You can see your position under the Pool page when you select Base V2 position.
